Lundqvist’s emotional display moves more than just Rangers fans

USA Today
Following yesterday’s loss to the Capitals, Henrik Lundqvist showed the world that hockey players are more than just a bunch of people wearing the same clothes every night. When asked by MSG reporter John Giannone about the trade that sent his longtime teammate and close friend Mats Zuccarello to Dallas, King Henrik couldn’t get the words out of his mouth.
This was a rare moment in the sports world – seeing a superstar athlete struggling to fight back tears after a teammate is traded. Lundqvist’s actions were noticed by many, both in the sports world and elsewhere.
Asked Ryan Callahan about Zuccarello trade and all the changes w Rangers. Callahan said it’s crazy to think only three guys left on NYR he played much with: Lundqvist, Kreider, Staal. And it’s only been five years. https://t.co/VCLs5AIevI

One of the major components of making it to the professional rank is caring and learning to play for your teammates. 9 months out of the year teammates are your family. We spend more time with them than we do our own families. We’re all human and deal with human emotions. https://t.co/RvkBZzIi9N
