A few surprises as Rangers release training camp rosters for Phase 3

The Rangers earlier today announced their roster for training camp which is now underway. In it, the Rangers are allowed to invite one non roster player to participate in camp, and it is prized prospect, K’ Andre Miller.

The other surprise was the inclusion of Micheal Haley who is on IR with an abdomen injury. The Rangers also added Hartford Wolf Pack forward, Danny O’Regan and defenseman, Brandon Crawley who I fully expected to get an invite.

Adam Huska was also added as the fourth net minder which will help in conducting scrimmages. Last month, David Quinn said he was going to hold a very competitive camp and that there would be a lot of scrimmages in order to replicate as many in game one-on-one battles as possible.

All and all, the Rangers have 29 skaters and 4 goalies in for Phase 3. It is expected all players eligible to be included in the 28 skaters limit will head to the East hub city in Toronto.

K’Andre Miller is not eligible for Phase 4 as his ELC was signed for next season. That means the remaining 9 will blue-liners will make the trip.
