Spencer is a versatile, award-winning sports multimedia journalist and personality who has proudly built over a decade of extensive experience across multiple formats including live television, sports talk radio, print, digital, and social media.
He currently serves full-time as the Sports Director and lead weeknight sports anchor at WKTV NEWSChannel 2 – the NBC/CBS television affiliate – in Utica, N.Y. He has held this position since 2015, eagerly sharing the stories of teams and athletes in the area that helped foster his love of sports growing up.
Born in New York City, Spencer has been a die-hard Rangers fan his entire life. His love for the Blueshirts, and hockey in general – which he has played since he could walk – are the main inspirations behind his pursuit for a career in sports media. He is thrilled to be a part of Forever Blueshirts, further connecting fellow Rangers fans with the team they love through comprehensive, engaging, and professional storytelling.
Following high school, Spencer graduated from Hofstra University on Long Island in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism, and a minor in Political Science. While in Hempstead, he served as captain of the Pride’s club ice hockey team, and covered the New York Islanders as a feature reporter for the team’s flagship station WRHU.
