Rangers claim they got the message about their recent play from the head coach, but really didn’t prove it to me on Monday against the Carolina Hurricanes. Thank the hockey gods for Cam Ward is all I have to say.
Marc Staal admitted that while they were winning Alain Vigneault was harping on their defensive issues. After three losses, Staal realized that they weren’t playing like the same team from the last two seasons. Now against the Islanders, the message will be truly tested so let’s see if they get it.
Dylan McIlrath will shine!
Kevin Klein is the latest Rangers victim to the injury ninja. Now, Dylan McIlrath will get a long look on the blue-line. As he has in recent games, expect McIlrath to keep it simple and be physical. A nice change of pace to what we’ve been seeing from the other Rangers d-men.
