Game 7 is just a day away and we’ve already had tons of drama leading up to it. Of course, it was all started when Alex Ovechkin guaranteed victory after the Caps fell short in Game 6.

That was followed by rookie Evgeny Kuznetsov dropping this bulletin board gem:

[su_quote cite=”Pro Hockey Talk” url=”https://prohockeytalk.nbcsports.com/2015/05/11/kuznetsov-caps-will-win-game-7-because-our-goalie-is-better/”]“Our goalie’s better,” Kuznetsov said with a laugh. “I don’t know what you want me to say. Our goalie’s better.”[/su_quote]

Yesterday, when Alain Vigneault was asked about the Ovechkin guarantee, he decided not to mix up in any nonsense.

[su_quote cite=”Blueshirts United” url=”https://www.blueshirtsunited.com/article/it-doesnt-get-much-better-game-7″]“At the end of the day, I would expect both players from both teams want to come in and win,” Vigneault said. “For us, our focus and our preparation is on what we need to do in this Game 7,” and added that his players must “stay in the moment” Wednesday night.[/su_quote]

At the opposite end, Capitals Head Coach, Barry Trotz said he “loved” Ovi’s comments and is happy his captain did it.

Former Rangers Knew the Current Rangers Weren’t Done

John Tortorella told Darren Dreger before Game 5 that he knew the Rangers would comeback.

Anton Stralman, who was on the Rangers during their 2014 Stanley Cup run that ended at the hands of the L.A. Kings believes the Rangers will advance. “I still think they’re going to pull it off — it’s what they do,” Stralman said. “Hopefully we’ll see each other in the conference final.”

Rangers Health?

As far as Ryan McDonagh is concerned, AV said he is ok and will be good to go in Game 7. McDonagh was injured late in Game 6 when Ovechkin, borderline charged him.

No new updates on Mats Zuccarello condition. This morning on XM Radio, Andrew Gross of The Record said there’s nothing new to report. He also stated that the Rangers are usually very tight lipped on injuries and not to expect too much.
