BREAKING: AHL expected to announce cancellation of season

News is now breaking that the AHL plans to cancel the remainder of their season. This means the Calder Trophy will not be awarded for the first time since 1937.

The AHL held an executive meeting today and it appears they could not find a path forward with the potential of not playing until late May or June.

This and the 5PM roster freeze explains the flurry of AHL transactions. The Rangers have two transactions left, and could be using them later today.
