BREAKING: Rangers close deal on top priority and acquire Jacob Trouba

The New York Rangers have acquired Jacob Trouba from the Winnipeg Jets. If you’ve been reading this site for the last few days, the Rangers made Trouba priority one.

What is more important is that it didn’t cost them the assets so many believed it would. As I stated over and over it starts with the 20th pick in the draft and roster player. Fortunately it was only one.

Now the Rangers must lock up Jacob Trouba to a contract. Obviously the two sides must believe a deal can be worked out or the Rangers would not have parted with the 20th pick overall.

This is going to be a crazy week in the #NHL. Let me throw this out there, I think the #NYR top priority is trading for Trouba. I don’t think they are as all in on Panarin as fans want them to be. If the contract makes sense and it’s mutual, sure. Rangers still rebuilding.
