Coach Quinn discusses tonight’s interesting final preseason lineup

Tonight’s lineup for the Rangers final preseason game features quite a few surprises. First off, Artemiy Panarin will play along with 8 defenseman.

What should be noted is that Tarmo Reunanen is slated to go back to Europe, so it appears the Rangers want to get one final look there. Also we should expect to see Brendan Smith exclusively playing wing on the 4th line tonight. His spot is in jeopardy, especially if Ryan Lindgren continues to impress coach Quinn.

As I noted earlier, I believe Kravtsov has made it and that Filip Chytil’s spot in the lineup is most in jeopardy. Same for McKegg and Nieves who are fighting for that 13th forward role.

Final Cuts

Prior to tonight’s game, the Pack played and afterward the head coach, Kris Knoblauch indicated that the final Rangers cuts will likely be made tomorrow.
