Coronavirus impacts NHL Sharks and Ovechkin’s goal assault continues

The San Jose Sharks are now officially impacted by the Coronavirus as the number of cases continues to grow. Yesterday, Santa Clara county in California has banned any events with 1000 or more people after the first reported death from the virus.

The ban, which will begin at midnight on Wednesday and span at least three weeks, will apply to any event with more than 1,000 attendees, Santa Clara County Counsel James Williams announced at a press conference Monday evening. The Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office and police departments throughout the county will enforce the ban.

Sharks will abide

The San Jose Sharks are being directly impacted and will have to decide on what to do about their upcoming home games in late March. According to TSN’s Frank Seravalli they have three options, including playing without fans which is the least likely scenario. Remember all of this is precautionary in order to control any additional infections and people should remain calm. Please go to CDC.gov to learn more.
