Darren Raddysh added to Rangers training camp invites

As we’ve been indicating for weeks, Darren Raddysh has been officially added to the list of defensemen for Phase 3 training camp. On July 5th, we mentioned he was rumored to get an invite and Larry Brooks is reporting it as official.

Darren Raddysh, the Wolf Pack’s reliable defenseman put up 28 points in 62 games this season. Night in and night out, he was strong and consistent for the Pack blue-line. He is also a right-handed shot and the Rangers will need that just in case injuries mount on the right-side.

The 24 year-old competes and that is all you can ask for when it comes to emergency defenseman. He can chip in some offense and shouldn’t have a hard time fitting in to David Quinn’s style of quick transition of he gets an emergency spot start.

Only Eight Defensemen for Rangers?

The big news is that it seems the Rangers may only take eight rearguards into camp. It does strike me odd that Brandon Crawley of the Wolf Pack wasn’t invited. It should also be noted that Crawley lives in NJ and it wouldn’t take much to make him a late add.
