ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith has often admitted he doesn’t watch or know much about hockey. That didn’t stop one of the most entertaining commentators on the new network for hockey to light up Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers.

Stephen A. Smith roasts the Oilers

In the now viral video, Smith goes on an epic rant screaming at both Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl for getting swept. “We all know that I am not a hockey expert,” Smith began. “But even I have heard of Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl – I’ve heard of both of those guys! Swwwepttt. In the first round?”

“Now how you gonna do hockey like that?” Smith deadpanned.

It was one of the more hilarious takes on a sad situation in Edmonton that is sure to give Oilers fans more salt for their wounds. Smith finished it up with a hat tip to the NHL. “I really did this segment actually just to make Gary Bettman proud, the NHL commissioner,” he said. “I want to show him and the rest of the hockey lovers out there I don’t mind doing that hockey.”
