Mats Zuccarello may have taken his final spin at MSG as a Ranger. He spoke with reporters last night about that possibility.

After the game, Mats spoke with Norwegian outlet TV2 and provided a lot more insights into his situation.

“I don’t know if I play the next two. You have to ask the coach about that. You always want to play, but it’s not something I can control.”

Zuccarello on if he will play again before the deadline.

“I’m not taking that position right now. If they do not want me, they will not have me.”

Larry Brooks wrote a great piece on the friendship of Henrik Lundqvist and Mats Zuccarello. When he asked Hank about his good friend being traded his response was somber.

“The times we’ve spent together, the talks we’ve had, I’ll miss that [if there is a trade] and I’ll miss him,” Lundqvist said. “I’ve had friends leave before. It’s hard. But when you play for one team for 14 years, it’s going to happen.”
