Alain Vigneault on Martin St. Louis and the state of the Rangers
Rangers Head Coach, Alain Vigneault spoke with French Sports talk show host, Mario Langlois on 985 Sports yesterday. If you understand French, click here. If not, here’s a quick summary.
On losing to Tampa…
“It’s never easy. There isn’t much separating the teams…the players were empty. On defense, not to make excuses, we had injured players. The players gave it their all, but Tampa was better. Now we go back to square one.”
Looking Ahead…
“We added good young players this year…when I look at Derick Brassard, Derek Stepan, Ryan McDonagh, Marc Staal and the rest of my team, I think we’re still quite young. Lundqvist isn’t as young, but in the case of goalies it’s different…They can play a little longer. I think of Martin Brodeur as an example.”
Martin St. Louis‘ Future…
“We want to know his intentions, but we want to give him time to properly evaluate the decision. Then we will see…”
For the record, I don’t speak French and I am very thankful for technology today.
