Ball now in Kravtsov’s court on North American return
Jeff Gorton has spoken and expressed his concerns over what is happening with Vitali Kravtsov over in Russia. Per the NY Post, Gorton has already reached out to his agent to facilitate a return to Hartford.
“He felt it was in his best interest to go back, and we allowed him to do that. I will say we’ve had a number of conversations with his agent recently just to revisit what’s best for him right now,” Gorton said Monday. “I’ll leave it to the conversations I’m having behind the scenes right now, and we’ll have to make a decision. Obviously we want the guy to play. If he’s not playing enough, then yes, we’d like to control his ice time a little bit.”

So now the proverbial ball is in Vitali’s court. Does he stay close to home in Russia and work his way back up from the VHL to the KHL? Or does he come back to North America and start working his way back to the Rangers through Hartford? The only one that can answer that is Kravtsov.
