Boston a real threat to land Shattenkirk before the Rangers?
Kevin Shattenkirk is the one pending UFA, that seems like he’s already penned into a future Rangers lineup card. Well, let’s hold the celebration because the Bruins could be the one team to throw a monkey wrench into Shatty’s homecoming.
Boston Made An Offer At the Draft
The Bruins went after Shattenkirk pretty hard at the draft but had to walk away when St. Louis demanded forward, David Pastrnak and both of Boston’s 1st round picks. That was all but confirmed by Bruins GM, Don Sweeney when he said, “In all honesty a trade would have taken both first rounders and then some. The acquisition cost was high.”
Recently, Boston beat writer Joe Haggerty stated that the Bruins aren’t aggressively pursuing Shattenkirk that may change after the holidays. Boston has also been active with waivers and could be making room for a deal.

But rumors involving Shattenkirk to Boston persisted and was addressed by DJ Bean in Boston as well.
So the question now becomes, will the boy who grew up playing hockey in Connecticut be open to playing in Boston?
Stay tuned.
