John Moore has signed on the dotted line and the Rangers blue line is now solidified for the upcoming season.

Update: Per Brooks’ correction 850,500.

The one year deal will work nicely for both the team and Moore as the salary cap is expected to rise almost 10 million dollars next season.

The 23 year old defenseman was part of a package deal 2 seasons ago. The infamous Marian Gaborik deal to Columbus. In exchange with Moore, the Blueshirst received Derek Dorset (now in Vancouver) and Derick Brassard. The centerpiece of the deal was Brassard, a former 1st round draft pick and center man with great upside.

With the re-signing of Moore, the 2 main pieces of that deal are intact and onboard in 2014-15.
