The Rangers announced moments ago that forward Pavel Buchnevich broke his thumb in Saturday night’s win over the Columbus Blue Jackets and will miss 4-6 weeks.

Since being reinserted into David Quinn’s lineup, Buchnevich registered three points in four games. The young Russian was playing the relentless style that David Quinn has been pushing since day one of training camp, and he looked like he had finally turned the corner. Hopefully, we’ll see Buchnevich back on the ice in the four week range, but this is definitely a setback for the highly-talented winger.
