As per the Ottawa Sun, it is believed that the Buffalo Sabres have had discussions with Glen Sather about Cam Talbot.

You have to think the Oilers and Sabres have both sniffed around there as well while Vancouver is willing to move goalie Eddie Lack with Jacob Markstrom ready to play.[/su_quote]

In my latest feature, “Rangers Must Trade Cam Talbot This Summer“, I stressed the need for the Rangers to expand interest beyond Edmonton and San Jose.  Should this be accurate, the Rangers are continuing to build his trade value and could likely extract the Oilers second 1st round draft pick (16th overall).

Sather will likely need to sweeten the pot and send a defenseman as well. There is no scenario as to which the Oilers would trade that pick for Talbot even up. So Sather will need to be creative.
