BYE-Week, BYE Vinni Lettieri (for now)

The New York Rangers go into their Bye Week by sending forward Vinni Lettieri back down to the Wolf Pack.

Vinni Lettieri has been impressive in his three games with the Rangers. Lettieri scored in his first game up with the Blueshirts on December 29th in Detroit with family in attendance. Since that emotional first goal, he’s also tallied an assist totaling two points in three games. His right-handed presence is noticed, and his power and speed has been noticed by the coach as well. Lettieri could be an important asset to the New York Rangers moving forward. While they are in need of more right-handed shooting on the power play, depth at the center position is needed as well.

With Lettieri’s strong play, I wouldn’t read to deep into this roster move. This is the right move, especially considering the Rangers are now in their bye week, allowing Lettieri to continue seeing game action. The Wolf Pack play Wednesday, January 10th at the Bridgeport Sound Tigers and Friday, January 12th in Laval, QC against the Laval Rocket. This gives Lettieri an opportunity to get two more games in to keep the gears turning.
