You Decide: Can Rick Nash break Jagr’s single season goal mark?

Rick Nash has been incredible for the Rangers this year and now we wonder if he could actually break Jaromir Jagr’s single season goal record with the Rangers.

In the 2005-2006 season Jaromir Jagr broke the Rangers single season goal record by posting 54. Through 33 games this year Nash has 23 goals and is projected by ESPN.com to break Jagr’s record this season with 56 goals and 32 assists.

Rangers head coach Alaign Vigneault has spoken about Nash looking rejuvenated this season. Vigneault told the Daily News “Rick’s come in here, every practice he has been focused, paying attention. He’s paying attention to the details on the ice, working extremely hard. This camp, compared to the one he had last year — I’ve had him twice — night and day.”

Nash has been a force at both ends of the ice this season, but we have to expect that his shooting percentage will come back to Earth. In his career he has had a shooting percentage of 12.7% this year it is up to 19.3%. One thing is for sure, the Rangers would be in bad shape without Nash, he is all over the ice, plays well defensively and creates room on offense.
