Change up! New York Rangers to go with Alexandar Georgiev against the Oilers; Reaves game-time decision

The New York Rangers have announced Alexandar Georgiev as tonight’s starter against the high-powered attack of the Edmonton Oilers.
Georgiev, 25, has not played since facing the Ottawa Senators way back on October 23. That was a gutsy performance as he held the Rangers close until they stormed back with three straight late third period goals.
It is expected that Igor Shesterkin will start against the Flames on Saturday.
Rangers go with Georgiev against the Oilers
Georgiev is sporting a 1-1-0 record this season with a 3.51 GAA and a .873 SV%. Not exactly confidence inspiring numbers when facing Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl.

The duo has combined for 39 points to help the Edmonton Oilers get off to a dominant 8-1 start, and they look to keep it rolling Friday night against Georgiev and the Rangers.
For his career, Georgiev is 1-1-1 with a 4.26 GAA and a .883 SV% against Edmonton.
Ryan Reaves is a game-time decision.
*We will update this post if Gerard Gallant provides any additional information on the starters.
