Chris Drury continues to bolster Rangers minor league affiliates
In a already crowded field for forwards in the organization, Hartford added another player to the mix for the upcoming season.
Chris Drury announced the signing of 24 year old Greg Chase to an AHL deal. The Pack earlier this season had a few other guys on AHL deals as well which does not affect the cap or roster space for the Rangers.
The young forward spent 10 games with the Wichita Thunder (1 goal, 6 assists), followed by 13 games with the Allen Americans (1 goal, 2 assists), then 41 games with the Maine Mariners (21 goals, 42 assists). Greg Chase was also given AHL action with Hartford for 5 games.
The signing adds more depth within Hartford and Maine. If the Wolf Pack lack players on their end, Chase can be the next guy to call up if the roster is depleted. The forward performed well with the Rangers ECHL affiliate last season.
The signing is meant for Maine. This boosts up their offense for the upcoming season. The Rangers will have a few prospects in the ECHL with Maine next season. The players who will start the season with the Mariners will be determined after training camp.
