CONFIRMED: Ruff in, Beukeboom out
As reported yesterday by FullTiltNYR.com, Lindy Ruff has been hired by the NYR to replace Jeff Beukeboom on head coach Alain Vigneault’s staff. Confirmed this morning by Larry Brooks of the NY Post,
Deal not yet done, but Rangers will hire Lindy Ruff as assistant coach (in charge of defense, plus) to replace Jeff Beukeboom.

Beukeboom will now turn to a scouting role in the organization, as the NYR look to have more experience behind the bench.
It appears that Ruff and Vigneault are on a common ground of understanding that Ruff is not there to step on AV’s toes, however one can speculate that if the NYR start to struggle, Ruff could potentially be first in line for the head coaching job.
Credit should also go to the team at Elite Sports and Blueshirts Nation who were also on this story.
