Dan Rosen: Glen Sather says Lundqvist needs 7-10 days before playing
Dan Rosen of NHL.com just wrote that Glen Sather feels Henrik Lundqvist will need 7-10 days before getting back to in game action.
[su_quote cite=”NHL.com” url=”https://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=758640″]”Just because he was cleared doesn’t mean he’s ready to return,” Sather said. “I’d say a week to 10 days, probably closer to 10 days.” Sather said the key for Lundqvist is to get into some games before the start of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The Rangers have 14 games remaining, so there is plenty of time for Lundqvist to get in and get up to speed. “The other thing about this is we want him ready for the end of the year,” Sather said. “We’re going to make the playoffs. He’s gotta get some games.”[/su_quote]
If that is the case, we are looking at a target date of either 3/24 against the Los Angeles Kings or 3/28 versus the Boston Bruins. Considering that there will only be 2 full practices before the L.A. game, the matchup against Boston makes the most sense.
Either way, the Rangers are getting healthier as the playoffs draw near.
