The Rangers wrapped up their morning skate ahead of game 5 tonight at the Garden. As usual, I like to watch the tweets from beat writers come in and caught this gem.

You can interpret this a few ways, but the most likely is that he directly answered a question about being a Ranger next year and his response seems pretty clear. Another possibility is that he simply feels the Rangers aren’t done playing this season.

We know from reports earlier this season that retirement isn’t on his mind and that he wants to continue. What wasn’t clear is where he would be lacing them up next season and now we have an idea.

Of course, with the Rangers getting up against it with the cap, he will need to take a lesser deal than his current $5M+. Will MSL settle for an incentive laden deal to stay in NY? It’s very likely as he has expressed his love for being a Ranger and how he likes to be closer to his wife and children in Connecticut.
