Dreger: Lias Andersson asks Rangers to trade him

This is breaking right now but is not surprising. The Rangers 1st round pick, 7th overall in 2017 has demanded to be traded. Lias Andersson is no longer with the team and Jeff Gorton will start looking at possible trades now if hasn’t already.

Lias Andersson has formally asked the @NYRangers for a trade. He is no longer with the club. Rangers GM, Jeff Gorton will use the Holiday Freeze to assess the market.

Bad Asset Management?

This is going to now be a massive debate amongst fans and experts alike. Did the Rangers who claim to be rebuilding actually give Andersson the quality ice time he needed? Did Andersson really deserve it, thus proving that he was too big of a reach at 7 overall? Again, I noted awhile ago that Andersson for Puljujarvi was discussed and now we are here.
