Dreger on Mats Zuccarello: “He won’t be traded”
Darren Dreger was on TSN’s Insider Trading and discussed Mats Zuccarello.
[su_quote cite=”via Nichols on Hockey” url=”https://www.nicholsonhockey.com/worthreading/2015/2/16/insider-trading”]Dreger, on Mats Zuccarello not likely being traded by the New York Rangers: “You’re right, but there’s a tough ongoing negotiation with Newport Sports. I mean, they love Mats Zuccarello. Alain Vigneault, the head coach of the New York Rangres, obviously wants to keep him. We might describe him as an ‘own rental,’ but even that isn’t appropriate given the fact that they want to keep this guy long-term. So there’s a lot of heavy-lifting ahead. He won’t be traded.”[/su_quote]
There are very fews out there with that kind of inside information, so this is the most promising news to date.
Mats Zuccarello has reasserted himself this month as a legit top 6 forward for the Rangers. His 9 points in his last 9 games has given the Rangers that secondary scoring good teams need. The Blueshirts are 7-1-1 in those 9 games and find themselves just 2 points out of 1st place with 2 games in hand on the rival Islanders whom they beat last night.
