Filip Chytil working out; Jacob Trouba in versus Blues
The New York Rangers held a well-attended morning skate in St. Louis as they get set to take on the Blues.
Both Mika Zibanejad (illness) and Jacob Trouba (personal reasons) were questionable, with the latter being more so after the team called up defenseman Matthew Robertson from the Hartford Wolf Pack on Wednesday.
According to Peter Laviolette, both players will be in the lineup on Thursday night.

One player that’s been missing from the lineup since suffering an upper-body injury on November 2, is Filip Chytil. The 24 year-old pivot, has recorded six assists through 10 games this season, and the Rangers miss his offensive abilities.
“It’s tough when you’re missing players,” Laviolette said of Chytil. “Everybody deals with that. Our job is to win hockey games and we have a lot of confidence in the guys on the ice.”
Over on Instagram, Chytil’s personal trainer posted a photo of his client getting back into shape. The Rangers center, in turn, shared a video story a few hours ago of him doing squats.
In late December, Chytil left New York for his homeland of Czechia to continue his rehab in a more familiar environment. Even though he had already been skating on his own weeks before the move, there’s been no timetable for his return, and that’s still the case.
At the end of the day, it’s great to see Chytil making progress as he remains determined to return this season.
