FullTilt Forecast: The 2014-15 New York Rangers Roster (Updated)
The reshaping of the NY Rangers roster is almost complete. Just about every integral rosters spot has been filled. All that remains in the inevitable re-signing of John Moore.
(Update Below)
Larry Brooks tweeted out that the Rangers have 4 million in cap space available. While that is true, many assume based on Alain Vigneault’s comments, that JT Miller will be given a bigger role. So we gave him a roster spot.
Jesper Fast received reasonable playing time and should also be penciled into the roster. NY will only carry 7 defenseman, and we give Matt Hunwick the nod in that spot.
Which leaves just enough cap space to re-sign Dan Carcillo at a reduced pay rate from last season, if he is willing to accept it.
Here is the lineup as we see it for opening day.

Update: In discussing with NYR beat writer Seth Rothman, he believes the Rangers will not add another player (no Carcillo) to leave cap space for an injury.
@NYR_FullTilt Rangers are not going to get that close to the cap. They'll carry at most 2 extras, and will want to have at least $500K avail
