Game 2: It’s Time For The Rangers To Be THE A-TEAM!

NHL.COM Twitter

Where’s Mr. T? Or how about Face? All 80’s TV show jokes aside, the NY Rangers need to find that new gear and play three game one 1st periods tonight!

Right off the top, I am here to tell you the LA Kings are not what the media are making them out to be. What is that exactly? Apparently the greatest hockey team ever assembled by the sounds of yesterday’s media day.

NY was actually the better team for 40 minutes until the lactic acid built up in their legs after a 6 day layoff from game action. They simply had a hard time skating until they worked it out with about 5 minutes left in the third period.

Hell! We could be talking about going up 2-0 tonight if St. Louis or Hagelin buried one of their 2 chances. Matter of fact, NY was outshot 20-3 in that 3rd period and still came away with the 2 best chances during the last 5 minutes of regulation.

Tonight, every NY Rangers is going to tow the line. Derek Stepan backed up his maligned winger, Rick Nash to the media by saying:

“As a line, I think we have a lot more to give, all three of us,” Stepan said. “We all have strengths that we contribute. Chris skates and Nasher and I create space.”

Nash was peppered by all the “Johnny Come Lately” journalists, who know almost nothing about the sport other than the fact that Nash is a goal scorer with only 3 goals this post season.

To a man, the Rangers are ready to seek redemption and let the entire sports world know this is a series and the Kings haven’t won a thing. The Blueshirts are the underdogs getting little to no respect in this Final and it’s burning them up.

Add in the comments made by Alain Vigneault of too many “B” level efforts and this Ranger squad should come out filled with piss & vinegar. Tonight, NY makes a stand. Tonight, the Rangers even this series.

Maybe after the game, Alain Vigneault will say, “I love it when a plan comes together.”
