The Garden Faithful Must Carry The Rangers To The Finals
The City of Montreal gave it their best shot, but the Rangers came away with 2 wins. Now the scene shifts to NY City and it’s time for Rangerstown to explode! With just 2 wins needed to get to the Stanley Cup Finals for the first time since 1994, the fans must will the Rangers to victory.
For the entire 1st round and much of the 2nd, the Rangers Faithful had been even more average then the team’s play. The Blueshirts had their mix of good games and bad games, with a total stinker in game 4 against the Penguins. The crowd was even worse! It came to a breaking point in games 3 & 4 versus Pittsburgh, as the Rangers went to the brink of elimination, the building’s only noise was boos.
Then tragedy struck as Marty St. Louis’ mother passed away the day before game 5 in Pittsburgh. The Rangers rallied for him and stayed alive to force a game 6 in NY. If there is one thing I’ve learned about this City, is that it’s heart is immeasurable. New Yorkers rally to a cause, when someone in this City is down, we lift them up. It simply is who New Yorkers are, and Ranger fans are New Yorkers.
On Mother’s Day, Madison Square Garden truly transformed for the first time since it’s renovation. The building was alive again, with an outpouring of emotion for the man who needed it most. Marty St. Louis returned that feeling by scoring the game’s 1st goal and skating off to chants of “Mar-ty” as he said “Thank You” in victory. The Rangers carried that emotion to a game 7 win in Pittsburgh and a trip to the Eastern Conference Finals.

Tonight, at Madison Garden for game 3 against a desperate Canadiens team, the fans must bring even more. From the moment they step on the ice to the final buzzer, the “Faithful” must be electrifying and intimidating. Fans must fill the building in a sea of blue, wave their towels and chant “Let’s Go Rangers”!
It is time to BELIEVE! This Rangers team has found another level, it may have found a Championship level. They feel it and I know the fans feel it. Let it out New York! Show the hockey world why Madison Square Garden is the World’s Most Famous Arena.
LET’S GO RANGERS!
