Is Mika coming back tomorrow?
Mika Zibanejad was back at practice and out of a non contact jersey today. All this points to a potential return to the lineup either tomorrow in Ottawa or Saturday in Montreal, the latest next week.
Mika Zibanejad last played a hockey game over 2 weeks ago on October 27th. In that game he was absolutely leveled by a borderline headshot from Patrice Bergeron of the Boston Bruins. Mika was looking down at the puck and was completely unprepared for the hit. Bergeron’s shoulder appeared to catch the chest and chin of the Rangers number 1 center, and he hasn’t played since.
“If he came, it would be more for being with the team skating,” said Quinn, who stressed he would be “shocked” if Zibanejad dressed against the Senators or Canadiens since “there’s a lot of uncertainty in this situation because he hasn’t had a chance to get contact. We’re [not] just going to throw him out there [for] a full game without having a practice or a chance to have some contact.”
