Sad Harrington
Mike Harrington is a sportswriter for the Buffalo News and has probably been the most outspoken and whiniest reporter that covered Vesey Watch. He wrote in his August 21st column:
The circus tents that surrounded Vesey were pitched outside of Buffalo…the amount of tampering that had to be taking place in recent weeks looks ridiculous. Let’s not forget this important point: Vesey was not a free agent until midnight on Tuesday. He was Sabres property until then. But that didn’t stop agents Peter Fish and Peter Donatelli from doing numerous media interviews the last month espousing the virtues of what it would be like for Vesey to play in Boston, or in Chicago, or (hmmm) in New York. That’s shameful stuff right there. The agents should know better.
However, what he fails to mention is for how the CBA allows this as pointed out by fellow blogger Dave Shapiro of the BlueSeatBlogs.com and was subsequently blocked:
Looks like that touched a nerve. pic.twitter.com/7MVwsj5VcE

Salty Harrington
What I found most amusing is how he was quoting tweets of Vesey’s presser, which looked less like “journalism” and more like a angry child who just saw his neighbor get that sweet G.I. Joe with a kung fu grip.
Or his childish response that the Rangers (like other teams wooing free agents in the past) put together a small video about the team, city and why he should sign here.
On Vesey column, #NYR fans howling in defense of superstar Kevin Hayes, he of 14 goals in 79 games. Guess they rate that above average.

Bottom Line: Vesey Went Where He Wanted To Play!
Get over it Harrington.
