K’Andre Miller out for New York Rangers versus Maple Leafs
According to multiple reports, the New York Rangers will be without defenseman K’Andre Miller due to personal reasons versus the Toronto Maple Leafs for Tuesday’s tilt.
Miller, 23, is having another fantastic campaign after signing a two-year bridge deal this past summer with an AAV of $3.872 million. On the season, he’s registered 5 goals and 7 assists for 12 points in 26 contests. The young blue-liner is on pace for a 37 point season.
Coupled with captain Jacob Trouba, the duo have been one the Rangers most dynamic defensive pairings. Miller’s 34 blocks to date ranks fourth on the team.
Defenseman Zac Jones is expected to step into the lineup in his absence. The 23 year-old played well when Adam Fox was on LTIR and amassed 3 points in 11 games (all assists).
Additionally, Igor Shesterkin was the first goalie off the ice, which is a good indication that he will start tonight.
Shesterkin, 27, is 10-6-0 in the early stages of the season, with a GAA of 2.83 and a .908 save percentage. In his career versus Toronto, he’s 4-1-1 and has a GAA of 2.15 along with a .934 save percentage.
