Kevin Weekes Discusses Rangers Coaching Search
In a recent tweet, Kevin Weekes suggested a name of a possible assistant coach for David Quinn’s staff.
As per @NYRangers Fans, keep an eye on Doug Weight. Relationship with Pres Glen Sather from @EdmontonOilers Days. With Coach Quinn coming in, Weight could potentially be a compliment to the Coaching Staff. @NHL @NHLNetwork

Yes, you read that correctly. After being let go by the Islanders a couple of weeks ago, Doug Weight, a former Rangers forward, would be an experienced coach who has been behind the bench as a coach for some of the NHL’s best young talents in John Tavares and Mathew Barzal. Given that the Rangers are going to be a team of mostly young and talented skaters, having Weight assisting Quinn would be a smart move.
