MARTIN ST. LOUIS MAY BE A RANGER THIS WEEKEND
FTR has learned that an offer is on the table that could have Martin St. Louis on the Rangers this weekend. NY would send Ryan Callahan, a depth forward or prospect and a 3rd round pick to Tampa Bay for Martin St. Louis. A conditional pick could come back to the Rangers if the Lightning re-sign Callahan or make it to the Eastern Conference Finals.
This certainly would fall in line with the rumors coming from the major news outlets. The Rangers and Callahan remain at least 1 year and 1 million apart on a contract extension as of today. Although, information has come out that the 2 sides have at least contacted one another in recent days.
The fact that Martin St. Louis wants out of Tampa and will only go to the Rangers has Glen Sather salivating at the prospects of obtaining him. Unless the Callahan camp comes down quickly, a scoring machine may be wearing the Blueshirt this weekend.
