MSG Networks Announces 2019-20 New York Rangers Telecast Schedule
MSG Networks to Telecast 70 Regular Season Games and All Six Preseason Games
Every Rangers Game, Pregame and Postgame Show Airing on MSG Networks to Stream on MSG GO
New York, NY (September 13, 2019) – MSG Networks, the television home of the New York Rangers, today announced the team’s telecast schedule for the upcoming season, which will include a total of 70 regular season games and all six preseason games. The first telecast will be on Wednesday, September 18th at 7:00 p.m., when the Rangers kick-off their preseason schedule at home versus the New Jersey Devils. The team opens their regular season at home versus the Winnipeg Jets on Thursday, October 3rd, with coverage getting underway at 6:00pm.
All preseason and regular season games airing on MSG Networks, in addition to the network’s pregame and postgame coverage, will also be available on MSG GO, MSG Networks’ live streaming and video on demand platform for smartphones, tablets and computers.
Sam Rosen, the recipient of the 2016 Foster Hewitt Memorial Award from the Hockey Hall of Fame, returns for his 36th season as the play-by-play voice of the Rangers and will be joined in the booth by analyst Joe Micheletti, back for his 14th season. John Giannone will once again provide in-game analysis from between the benches, while also conducting player interviews throughout the pregame, postgame and each intermission. Al Trautwig will host the network’s pregame, postgame and intermission coverage, alongside former Rangers goalie and Emmy Award winning studio analyst Steve Valiquette. Anson Carter, who played two seasons with the Rangers during his NHL career, will also serve as an analyst in the studio for select games this year.
Versatile play-by-play announcer Kenny Albert returns for his 24th season as the radio voice of the Rangers, calling play-by-play action on ESPN98.7 radio, with former Rangers captain Dave Maloney handling the analysis. Don La Greca will serve as the back-up play-by-play announcer for games on ESPN 98.7.
Rangers game telecasts, presented by Chase, will be preceded by the 30-minute “Montefiore Rangers Game Night” pregame show and immediately followed by the “Mercedes-Benz Rangers Postgame Show”.
