New York Rangers announce 2022-23 Training Camp roster and schedule

New York Rangers Training Camp for the 2022-23 season will commence on Wednesday beginning with player medicals. Head coach Gerard Gallant will really get things going with his first press conference of the season scheduled for 3 PM ET.

The team announced that they have invited 66 players to attend camp broken down as follows:

  • 41 Forwards
  • 18 Defensemen
  • 7 Goalies

On-ice sessions will begin on Thursday at the MSG Training Center and camp will conclude on October 9 when all final cuts are expected. During that time frame, the Blueshirts will play 6 preseason contests starting on September 26 against the New York Islanders.

New York Rangers 2022-23 Training Camp Roster

Per the New York Rangers press release:

Twenty-two players played at least one NHL game for the Rangers last season while off-season additions Ryan Carpenter, Turner Elson, Gustav Rydahl, Vincent Trocheck, Ty Emberson, Andy Welinski, Jaroslav Halak and Louis Domingue will represent the Blueshirts for the first time. Three draft picks (Maxim Barbashev, Bryce McConnell-Barker, Adam Sykora) from the 2022 Entry Draft will also attend camp. Following a season that saw him score 52 goals and set a team record with 26 power play goals, Chris Kreider will begin his 12th season (includes 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs) with New York, the longest tenure of any active Ranger. The team also posted the schedule for the first four days of camp as follows:

  • 9/21 – Gerard Gallant Press Conference (3:00 PM)
  • 9/22 Team A & B Scrimmage (10:00-10:45 AM)
  • 9/22 Team C Practice (12:45-2:30 PM)
  • 9/23 Team A & C Scrimmage (10:00-10:45 AM)
  • 9/23 Team B Practice (12:45-2:30 PM)
  • 9/24 Team B & C Scrimmage (10:00-10:45 AM)
  • 9/24 Team A Practice (12:45-2:30 PM)

Players will be made available at the end of each day.
