New York Rangers guide to 2023 NHL Draft
The NHL Draft is an opportunity for the New York Rangers to add to their prospect pipeline. Originally called the NHL Amateur Draft, it was first held on June 5, 1963 in Montreal. Starting in the 1995 season, the league introduced the NHL Draft Lottery which is still in place today.
When and Where is the 2023 NHL Draft
The 2023 NHL Draft will take place at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee from June 28-29.
Day One of the NHL Draft will begin at 7 pm et on ESPN, Sportsnet, and TVAS covering the first round.
Day Two will start at 11 am et and be broadcasted on NHL Network, Sportsnet, and TVAS covering rounds two through seven.

Connor Bedard
Bedard, who turns 18 next month, put up staggering numbers this past season for the Regina Pats of the Western Hockey League. In 57 games, he posted 71 goals and 72 assists for 143 points.

The New York Rangers will have a total of five picks in the 2023 NHL Draft.

Who is the Rangers highest ever selection?
Alexis Lafrenière
In their history, the New York Rangers have only selected first overall twice. In 1965, they took Andre Veilleux with the first pick of the draft but he never played for the Blueshirts.
In 2020, the Rangers won the NHL Draft Lottery to move all the way up to number one and used it to select Lafrenière.
The Quebec native was impressive in juniors amassing 114 goals and 297 points in 173 career QMJHL games with the Rimouski Oceanic.
