New York Rangers and Islanders to take it outside in 2024 Stadium Series
The New York Rangers and New York Islanders will square off in next year’s NHL Stadium Series.
Although yet to be officially announced, they will be one of four teams involved. Per David Pagnotta, the other matchup will be the New Jersey Devils taking on the Philadelphia Flyers.
Both games will take place during February at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. Forever Blueshirts has learned that the Rangers will play in the second contest tentatively scheduled for February 18th.

New York Rangers back outdoors
When the Rangers and Islanders square off outside, it will mark the fifth time that the Blueshirts play in the cold. Here’s a quick recap of the previous outings:
2012 Winter Classic, at Citizens Bank Park (January 2)
In hostile territory, the Rangers defeated the Philadelphia Flyers 3-2 on goals by Mike Rupp (2x) and Brad Richards (game-winner). Henrik Lundqvist was the star of the match making 34 saves, including a huge penalty shot stop on Daniel Briere to preserve the lead in the final minutes.
2014 Stadium Series, at Yankee Stadium (January 26 and 29)
Game 1: The Rangers rolled over the New Jersey Devils by a 7-3 score. Mats Zuccarello scored two huge goals back-to-back in the second period and Lundqvist stopped 19 shots.
Game 2: Lundqvist was the star of this contest making 30 saves to hold off a resilient New York Islanders squad. Benoit Pouliot and Daniel Carcillo were the unlikely goal scorers in the 2-1 comeback win.
2018 Winter Classic, Citi Field (January 1)
J.T. Miller was the hero with an overtime tally to lift the Rangers over the Buffalo Sabres by a 3-2 score. Lundqvist remained perfect in outdoor games for his brilliant career making 31 saves.
