New York Rangers sign Libor Hajek to one-year deal
According to CapFriendly, the New York Rangers have re-signed defenseman Libor Hajek to a one-year, one-way deal worth $800,000.
Hajek, 24, played in only 17 games last season with the team and registered just 1 assist with a -10 rating. In his 94 game career, all with the Rangers, he’s picked up 3 goals and 11 points while averaging 15:10 per night.
He was selected in the 2nd round of the 2016 NHL Draft by the Tampa Bay Lightning and was part of the package Tampa sent back to the Rangers in the Ryan McDonagh blockbuster at the 2018 Trade Deadline.
The 6-2, 203 lbs defenseman has also played 94 games in the AHL mostly with the Hartford Wolf Pack (86). His minor league stats includes 2 goals and 11 points, with only one goal registered with Syracuse.
Hajek must clear waivers in order to be sent to the Wolf Pack next season.
