New York Rangers trade Patrik Nemeth, sign goalie Louis Domingue
The New York Rangers were able to trade defenseman Patrik Nemeth and his entire cap hit off the books to the Arizona Coyotes.
After opting not to buy Nemeth out on Tuesday, the Rangers were able to shed his entire $2.5 million cap hit for two seasons but at a cost. GM Chris Drury has to add a second round pick in 2025, plus a conditional pick that will either be a second round pick in 2024 or 2026.

New York Rangers sign Louis Domingue
If you can’t beat them, join them!
The New York Rangers have inked another backup goalie in Louis Domingue, who certainly impressed them during their first round matchup in the playoffs. In six games against the Rangers during the 2022 playoffs, he posted a 3-3 record.
Per Frank Seravalli, it is a 2 year deal with a low cap hit of $775,000.
Domingue, 30, has a record of 59-60-10 in 142 career appearances. His GAA of 3.04 and SV% of .905 are also respectable for a backup.
New York signed Jaro Halak earlier in the day, so Domingue should be manning the nets in Hartford for the Wolf Pack to start the season.
