NHLPA votes Patrick Kane as best stick-handler in the game
The NHLPA released the results of their player conducted poll on Wednesday with New York Rangers forward Patrick Kane receiving top honors as the best stick-handler in the game today.
According to the NHLPA’s website, 626 players were surveyed on a variety of on and off ice topics. When it came to who they felt was the best stick-handler in the league, Kane received a sizable 46.1% of the votes to beat out Edmonton Oilers superstar Connor McDavid (28.7%).
Patrick Kane named best stick-handler
Kane, 35, has 7 points in 10 games since joining the Blueshirts (3 goals, 4 assists). The poll also placed him as the second best passer in the game with 13% of the votes. Meanwhile, his linemate Chris Kreider was voted second by his peers for being the best in-front of the net (14.6%).
The Rangers first line saw some attention as well with Mika Zibanejad coming in third for most underrated player at 3.3% and Artemi Panarin finishing fourth for his passing skills at 7.8% of the votes.
Additionally, Igor Shesterkin (4.8%) came in a distant second to Andrei Vasilevskiy (52.3%) when players were asked: If you need to win one game, who is the goalie you would want on your team?
Finally, New York City received 16.3% of votes to finish second behind Vegas (31.7%) for Best NHL Road City.
