Practice Report: Zuccarello, Namestnikov Not Heading On Rangers Road Trip
Getty ImagesThe Rangers announced moments ago that forwards Mats Zuccarello and Vladislav Namestnikov will remain in New York when the Blueshirts head to Canada for games against Ottawa and Montreal.
#NYR Updates: Namestnikov is in concussion protocol, neither he nor Zuccarello will travel on the upcoming trip.

Zuccarello has missed all but two games since sustaining a groin injury earlier this month. You could tell that Zuccarello wasn’t 100% when playing in those two contests, and with reports of him having a setback from playing in Philadelphia, there’s no rush to get him back on the ice.
As for Namestnikov, he took a hard hit late in Monday night’s win over the Senators at The Garden and has landed in concussion protocol.

Namestnikov had been playing on Mika Zibanejad’s line since the aforementioned Zuccarello went out of the lineup. Tim Gettinger is still with the team after being recalled before Monday night’s contest, but the Rangers are still lacking a forward in the lineup. There is a good chance we will see a call-up from the Wolf Pack before tomorrow night’s game in Ottawa. Should the Rangers decide not to recall a player from Hartford for their game against the Senators, David Quinn would be forced to play 11F, 7D.
OK, David Quinn just met with us: Namestnikov in concussion protocol. Zucc (groin) not an option for the next two on road. Will talk about possible AHL call up on flight today. #nyr #rangers
