Quinn gives some insight on his vision for turning the Rangers around
David Quinn appeared on SiriusXM NHL Radio today and dished on a variety of topics. He talked about how he feels one of his greatest assets is being a good communicator and how the game has changed over the years.
Insight On Quinn’s Outlook for the Team
Host, Patrick Sullivan mentioned that the New York Rangers have some good pieces already but wondered what Quinn thought about how quickly NHL teams can turn things around. Quinn’s response was noting that there are a lot of good players out there in the league and that a couple of changes could expedite a turnaround. This leads me to believe that the Rangers will certainly explore the trade and free agency market this summer. Quinn also mentioned that nurturing and developing the young players already there is key and something he and the organization will focus on.
Quinn also mentioned his relationship with Kevin Shattenkirk again, which obviously will be key going forward. Shattenkirk will likely take on a bigger leadership role and will probably be wearing an A on his sweater. The new coach has yet to get in contact with Lundqvist and other leaders on the team, but intends to do so in the near future.
