Rangers Affiliate Sign Forward To AHL Deal
Yesterday, Hartford Wolf Pack GM Chris Drury announced the signing of forward, Shawn O’Donnell. The grizzled veteran has been signed through an American Hockey League contract, which does not count against the Rangers contract limit.
A FAMILIAR FACE
Shawn O’Donnell is a familiar face and name to Wolf Pack fans. The 30-year-old veteran joined the organization late last season to play one game before his injury through a Professional Tryout deal. Prior to joining Hartford, O’Donnell spent the entire season with the Cincinnati Cyclones of the ECHL notching 19 goals and 25 assists for 44 points in 46 games. He also had 26 penalty minutes. The rugged winger has cut down on his time spent in the box as he had higher amounts in past seasons.
Shawn O’Donnell joined Hartford previously for the 2013-14 season and left the group after the 2015-16 season.
Welcome back, Shawn!
PRESEASON SCHEDULE UPDATE
Due to the Rangers not making cuts until after Thursday’s game, the Wolf Pack was forced to cancel their preseason game this Friday against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers.
The Pack will play one preseason game on Saturday at 1 pm against Bridgeport. Currently, the Pack has a few forwards and defensemen with three goalies. The Rangers should be able to make cuts before Saturday’s contest.
