Braden Schneider wins WHL Defenseman of the Year
The Rangers selected the physical defenseman with their second first round pick in the 2020 Draft. So far the move looks like a wise one as he continues to impress at every level.
Schenieder played a big role for Team Canada’s Silver Medal run at the World Juniors. He picked up an assist in two games with the Wolf Pack before heading to his WHL team, the Brandon Wheat Kings. Upon his return, Schneider was named their 64th captain in franchise history.
This season he registered 5 goals and 27 points in 22 contests. His plus/minus rating was +18 with only 12 penalty minutes. Considering his physical style, that’s an impressive total. Schneider is playing for Team Canada at the World Championships and has an assist.
The best part about Braden Schneider is the Rangers trading up to draft him in order to block the Devils.
