Rangers burning up phones lines trying to make a deal
The 2nd buyout window is about to close in a few hours (5PM EST). As of right now, multiple sources state they are aggressively exploring trade options before utilizing a buyout.
Deadline Looming
The names out there on the trade market are Chris Kreider, Kevin Shattenkirk, Vlad Namestnikov, Brendan Smith, and Ryan Strome.
Depending on who they can or can’t move, it will dictate what they will do by 5PM on the buyout front. Example, if they can’t make a trade it would likely mean a Shattenkirk buyout. If they can make a move, it could be a Smith buyout.
