Rangers Call Up Vinni Lettieri

After Chris Kreider went down with an injury during the first period of last night’s game, the Rangers announced they have called up Vinni Lettieri from Hartford.

Lettieri has been one of the better players for the Wolf Pack this season, registering 21 points (12G, 9A) in 31 games. The 22-year-old was one of the final players cut from training camp in September and he’ll be looking to earn some traction within the organization with this call-up.
The downside to the call-up, of course, is that it means Chris Kreider is likely out for an extended period of time. Kreider had put up 22 points (11G, 11A) in the 37 games he played this season but had only scored one goal since the start of December. Hopefully, Kreider’s injury isn’t too serious, and that he’s able to come back soon. In the meantime, Lettieri will get a couple of games, it seems, to show the NHL what he can do.
