Rangers dethrone Kings with 4-2 Win
This is the Quick Hits recap for the Rangers 4-2 win over the Kings.
Solid Play: Unlike the last two games (which, unsurprisingly, were losses), the Rangers came out solid and played a full 60 minutes of hockey. Minus a few defensive slips and some shaky passes, the overall output was what we, as fans, expect to see. The end result was a team that fought hard to retain the lead and came away with a victory. With a lot of back and forth in the beginning, Rangers had a hard time getting going on the forecheck, but by the second period were sustaining pressure in the O-zone.

Rick Nash: Boy, was he hungry all night. He made consistent drives to the net, breaking away from his defenders and despite his efforts, he remained snake bitten for most of the game. However, with 3:27 left to go in the third, Nashty pulled it off. He gave the Rangers the go-ahead and game-winning goal and boy was he happy to celebrate it.

Pavel Buchnevich: Buchnevich is one of those players that you just love to watch. You can tell that he has a high hockey IQ, even if his defensive play tends to be lacking at times. His stick handling lets him move the puck while he uses his body to keep the defenders away, much like Nash and Hayes do. While he didn’t score tonight, his play is certainly nothing to scoff at.
"It was a fun game to play and a big win." – @HLundqvist30 following his 33-save performance over the LA Kings. #NYR https://t.co/uBUHwL5S1l

Henrik Lundqvist: King Henrik had 33 saves for the night against LA. In his post-game presser he quoted, according to NHL.com, the overall challenge as being a “…pretty physical game for me to play and try to find pucks. … It was a fun game for me to play.”
Other Notes: This game ended the two-game losing streak. The Rangers have also won the last 13 out of 14 home games, proving that they’re stronger at home than on the road. This is a bit concerning since 27 of their last 44 games will be on the road. Chris Kreider also scored his 100th goal of his career. McDonagh ended the night with the Broadway Hat upon his head.
The Rangers face the Bruins tomorrow at 5pm EST, where they’ll look to build another winning streak.
LET’S GO RANGERS!
